Velocity is a fast-paced IT managed service company, and we need a Payroll, Time, and Attendance Specialist on our team. The Payroll, Time and Attendance Specialist is responsible for coordinating efforts for all hourly, salary, and payroll-related tasks while adhering to strict deadlines. The specialist will be involved with the day-to-day activities of payroll along with regularly assigned processing duties and will keep the HR Director apprised as situations arise. This role will actively participate in developing, maintaining, and continuously improving procedures and processes concerning all aspects of the payroll department. In addition, the specialist will work closely with, HR and Accounting on all payroll-related items.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate the workflow of payroll activities, and ensure that payroll, taxes are processed timely and accurately.
- Perform timely analysis of payroll records, reports, and discrepancies to resolve problems, as quickly as possible.
- Operate as subject matter expert, keep HR Director informed, and escalate items as needed.
- Maintain high customer service focus, manage effective internal/external client relationships, and continue to build a team environment that encompasses all payroll contributors.
- Participate in Payroll projects. Be able to share knowledge, as well as gain knowledge for the success and advancement of the department.
- Keep accurate records for all payroll changes (merit increases, adjustments).
- Answer routine time and attendance questions for managers and employees.
- Make accurate corrections to timecards.
- Inform managers of outstanding timecard issues.
- Audit and close pay period timecards to ensure compliance with our company policies.
- Track attendance points and issue warnings for supervisors to provide to their employee.
- Set up time and attendance access for supervisor with direct reports and adjust permissions as needed.
- Provide training to newly assigned supervisors to work within the payroll deadlines and to help them navigate timecards.
- WC code entries, audits, compliance, and payments.

Requirements
- Four to six years payroll experience in a multi-state environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and can run several tasks on multiple monitors at your workstation.
- Work experience with payroll accounting, tax, garnishments, unemployment, and FLSA rules.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local government payroll tax regulations
