The Senior HR Generalist responsible for supporting employees with general HR inquiries, and managing transactions related to the complete life cycle of an employee. Assists in developing HR policies and HR practices. This role will identify opportunities to increase efficiency in service delivery by focusing on continuous improvement of HR processes. Under general supervision, provides support to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources in consulting managers with employee related issues, performance management systems, maintains confidential employee information utilizing HRIS system, staff recruitment, and maintains compliance with Federal and State laws.
Other responsibilities include:
- Maintains and updates existing full and part time job descriptions for all Zoo positions, as well as determining and implementing job classification requirements, compensation, salary grading and benchmarking
- Acts as liaison & coordinator for implementation of HRIS system
- Administers PT/Seasonal “Exit Interview System”; tracks all part-time evaluations, maintains statistical records and integrity of internal systems
- Responsible for ACA tracking, reporting, filing and compliance i.e. 1094-C/1095-C
- Consults and advises management on best practices of performance management systems including coaching/counseling, disciplinary steps, and employee evaluations based on internal policies and training initiatives. Conducts internal employee investigations, as needed
- Assists with recruitment-associated tasks including job verifications, employment offers, scheduling physicals, quarterly evaluations, background checks and regularly scheduled orientations]
- Assists with benefit and leave administration, including benefit renewals, benefit enrollment, benefit changes, FMLA leave, STD<D, etc.
- Member of Health Cost Containment Committee
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, and a minimum of three years’ experience in Human Resources Specialist or Generalist role. Must have strong employee relation skills, effective oral and written communication skills and computer knowledge. Must have a valid drivers’ license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
