About Findlay City Schools: Findlay City Schools is located in the heart of Hancock County and is an excellent public school system. Serving a growing cultural and economically diverse population the Findlay City Schools encompasses approximately 37 square miles. Presently, the district is comprised of one high school, one career center, two middle schools, three primary buildings (K-2) and three intermediate buildings (3-5) building, one preschool building, and the Trojan Academy serving over 5,500 students. Overview of Position: Findlay City Schools is in search for a Director of Human Resources who will be responsible for directing all of the people functions of the organization in accordance with the policies and practices of Findlay City Schools, the ethical and social consciences of schools and society, and the laws, regulations and administrative rulings of governmental organizations and other regulatory and advisory authorities and organizations. In this capacity, the position incumbent is responsible for providing overall direction of human resources operations and support across all employee types including certified and classified employees. This includes interpretation of district HR policies, providing consultation and advice on HR issues and concerns, and developing and implementing HR strategies and plans within the district. The incumbent will be responsible to provide the organization with the best people talent available and to position the organization as the school district of choice by being aware of policies, practices and trends within the education community.
Minimum Requirements: To be successful in this position, the incumbent must have the following competencies: Communication, Consultation, Critical Evaluation, Ethical Practice, Cultural Awareness, HR Expertise, Leadership & Navigation, Relationship Management, and Organizational Skills. In addition:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Masters' degree preferred; or 10 to 15 years of exempt level HR experience in a public employer/school setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification: SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire is strongly preferred.
Specialized Experience: Experience in a unionized environment, dealing with negotiations and collective bargaining administration.
Salary & Benefits: $85,000 - $105,000 annualized. Findlay City Schools participates in the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) and offers great benefits.
