We are looking for an enthusiastic and development-oriented HR person to join the Envases Ohio team in the role of HR Generalist. In this role, you will act as an employee & business champion and change agent. You will work closely with the HR Director to assess and anticipate HR-related needs, building partnerships to deliver value-added services to site leadership and employees that reflect our business objectives. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manages the time and attendance system to ensure team member compliance and reporting.
- Processes bi-weekly payroll in an accurate and timely manner ensuring all employees are paid properly and on time.
- Responsible for payroll related status changes including new hires, position changes, performance increases, and terminations.
- Ability to accurately answer payroll related questions from employees.
- Work with Production Supervisors and Management to assist with the development and implementation of standardized training for hourly positions.
- Coordinates and activates employee engagement, communication plans, and employee activities
- Monitors new hires throughout the first 90 days by delivering new hire surveys and providing organized feedback to managers and supervisors.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Willingness to participate in career fairs or other recruiting events as needed.
- Assists with the offboarding process including conducting exit interviews.
- Willingness to work on other HR/Payroll related projects as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree and a steady work history.
- Professional experience in Human Resources
- Prior experience processing payroll for an hourly workforce strongly preferred
- Flexibility and willingness to work within frequently changing priorities and the ability to do so with enthusiasm
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions.
- Willingness to walk a significant distance each day, in order to conduct business throughout our plant.
- Willingness to conduct team member interactions on the plant floor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills.
- Strong preference given to candidates with experience undergoing a payroll conversion
