The University of Toledo
The Human Resource Consultant acts as a trusted partner with the leaders of the assigned business units and provides consultation to managers, faculty and staff in the areas of employee/labor relations, compensation, employment, talent & performance management, and other related human resources matters. The HR Consultant is utilized for their knowledge of human resource policies, procedures, employment law, and talent development in order to maximize the business units' results.
Required Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required.
-Minimum 5 years' progressively responsible experience in Human Resources required.
-Experience in policy and/or program development required.
-Experience in providing an expert advisory and consultancy service to management and staff on a wide range of complex human resource management matters required.
-Ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization (employees to senior management)
-Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work to achieve goals and meet deadlines, including dealing with competing demands and managing multiple projects and tasks.
-Excellent communication skills
-Effective leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Previous experience in a unionized environment strongly preferred
-Previous experience with recruitment and hiring of healthcare workers preferred
-Experience with HRIS system preferred
-Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred
-PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP Certifications preferred
