SUMMARY
· Develop and implement plant specific policies and procedures; provide leadership in maintaining comprehensive environmental, health and safety programs; promote a culture that supports associate development and retention. Supervise associates as required. In collaboration with the corporate human resources department, develop, administer and coordinate human resources policies, procedures and programs. Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance. Actively participate in developing and sustaining a culture that supports the company’s core values. Encourage and support teamwork and promote team oriented problem solving. Maintain confidential information consistent with company guidelines. Adhere to quality policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership in the establishment and maintenance of good associate relations that will attract and retain a positive and productive work force. Advise plant manager and other managers/supervisors as needed about circumstances that may adversely influence plant morale. Develop and present constructive recommendations for addressing concerns/issues. Facilitate timely resolution of associate conflicts.
- Provide leadership to continuously improve plant, environmental, health and safety in compliance with all regulatory requirements; facilitate and participate in the investigation of accidents using problem solving techniques; confer with plant manager and others involved to determine ways to prevent accident reoccurrence. Promote and work with associates in sustaining sound security practices.
- Manage plant human resources policies, programs and procedures in compliance with company guidelines. Works with all associates to ensure consistent application and interpretation of human resources policies and procedures. Conduct disciplinary investigations and as required, process terminations in a legal and professional manner.
- Direct and actively participate in the administration of all company provided compensation and benefit programs. Counsel and advise associates at all levels within the organization on these programs.

Manage the plant’s performance appraisal program. Counsel managers/supervisors on proper evaluation procedures and developing and implementing comprehensive action plans to address improvement areas. Ensure that promotions, transfers, demotions etc. are implemented consistent with company guidelines.
- Direct and conduct recruitment and orientation of associates to foster positive attitudes and meet company staffing objectives. Working with the hiring manager, ensure the development and implementation of an effective assimilation program.
- Proactively direct appropriate associate communications. Ensure the communication vehicles: presentations, bulletin boards, Updates, announcements, notices, etc. are robust and current. Facilitate effective meetings.
Conduct affairs in an ethical manner consistent with company expectations of fair and respectful treatment of others.

Qualification Requirements
- Four Year post secondary degree in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five or more years experience in associate relations; recruitment and retention; compensation and benefit administration; safety and security; training and associate development and solid knowledge of state and federal regulations.
- Ability to identify problems, analyze causes and develop and evaluate alternative solutions.
- Strong communication skills, written, verbal and demonstrated active listening
- Strong leadership skills and experience in successful associate development.
- Computer literate using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access).
- Commitment to quality (customer, company and own work).
- Consistently show concern and respect for the needs and feelings of others; exercise tact and diplomacy.
