We are seeking a Corporate Human Resources Manager for our Erie, MI headquarters, who will bring and apply a project management mindset to implement corporate HR Solutions with focus on Risk Management and Benefits Administration. The right individual will be a specialized expert in several HR functional areas, and will embrace the culture of partnering with ownership, including the VP of Human Resources and other leaders to implement corporate Human Resources solutions for the 950 employee company. We have locations in the North and South East area of the United States, with occasional travel up to 15% required.
Key Deliverables for the Corporate Human Resources Manager role:
· Benefits Administration: Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs. Prepare and execute, with legal consultation, benefits documentation, such as original and amended plan texts, benefit agreements and insurance policies. Instruct insurance carriers, trustees and other administrative agencies outside the company to effect changes in benefits program. Ensure prompt and accurate compliance.
· Workers' Compensation: Monitor and assist with all issues related to workers' compensation and occupational injury administration.
· Legal and Compliance: Provide the internal communication and guidance necessary to ensure compliance with the organization's policies and procedures as well as state and Federal regulations, particularly as it relates to unemployment, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. Conduct investigations; representing the organization at unemployment hearings.
· Communications and Employee Relations: Work with company leadership to effectively communicate expectations and directions across all levels of the organization. Serve as an internal resource assisting managers to effectively manage and resolve HR-related issues. Establish trust and credibility with all levels of the company from the officers to entry-level team members.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s with an emphasis in Human Resources from four-year College or university required, and 5-8 year’s related experience and/or training in Human Resource management.
· Experience supporting multiple locations a plus.
· PHR/SPHR certification required.
· Occasional travel is required to support all locations with open enrollment and other planned employee engagement activities.
· Must possess strong interpersonal skills and great communication skills both written and oral.
· Must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects.
· Must possess excellent personal computer skills and having working knowledge of Microsoft Office products software i.e.; Word. Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and HRIS systems.
