Director Human Resources – Mercy Health Toledo
This position is responsible collaborating with Business Unit Leadership Team to Implement HR programs and services in accordance with Federal, State, and Local laws, JCHAO and other governing bodies.
Position Criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
- Five+ years of managerial experience in Human Resources
- PHR Certification, SPHR preferred; CEBS preferred.
- Consultative background preferred for interacting with senior leaders.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of trends and innovations in Human Resources.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required, intermediate knowledge of HR systems (HRIS, Taleo, .edu, etc.) and HR data sources.
- Requires multi-site experience
- Requires Union experience
Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Direction
- Collaborates with home office groups and regional leadership/HR staff to ensure that future strategic direction of Region are aligned with Mercy Health business directions and regional needs.
Plan Design & Standardization
- Partner with regional leaders to implement Mercy Health’s plan design.
- Facilitate the standardization of practices and strategies across the region.
- Evaluate and analyze the effectiveness of current systems and programs to enhance and improve their impact.
Internal Partner Management
- Develop strong relationships with internal partners including regional HR and benefits leaders, HealthSpan (wholly owned network management group), finance, clinical, communications and other stakeholders.
Compliance
- With the support of internal and external legal counsel:
- Support the navigation of Mercy Health’s benefits program through the Accountable Care Act and it’s various requirements
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirement for health plans and wellness program
